9. Making an offer

When you find an item that you would like to buy, but want to offer less money for it, or offer an alternative item to swap, click on ‘Make an offer’.
What would YOU like to pay for it? Just type in your offer in pounds and pence, and wait and see what reply you get from the seller.
Be creative! You also have the option to offer the seller an item of your own while paying less or no money.
You can message the seller underneath the item.
You might want to explain why you cannot afford the item, or that you have seen it cheaper elsewhere but you liked their shop and wanted to do business with them. Sometimes, communicating can lead to compromises that numbers alone wouldn’t.
You’ve made your offer; you’ve sent it to the seller… now you have to wait to hear if they accept.
If your offer is rejected, then do not worry, you can still click on ‘Buy now’ for the original price, or make an alternative offer that they might decide to accept.
If your offer is accepted, then make sure you confirm that you still want it!
PLEASE be warned, if you are making an offer on something rather than buying now, there is a chance that someone else can swoop in and ‘Buy now’ whilst you are negotiating…‘Buy now’ supersedes ‘Make an offer’ I’m afraid.
